Clouds again

The Bear Valley clouds were so intriguing that another image is called for.

Thursday morning at Bear Valley wasn't particularly windy on the ground but in the sky the clouds were being blown into nearly unbelievable shapes, changing from minute to minute.

Last Friday night the Bay Area had an unusual event - a thunderstorm - during the night. The flashes and the thunder were thrilling at our house, but some areas were without power for some time due to lightning strikes. However, it was all thunderclap and little rain for our thirsty area. In the morning, it was still threatening to rain, which it did in spits, and the morning sky was worth seeing.

As we approached Rio de Janeiro the moon was rising through the clouds.

I'm not sure of the name of this lake but we saw it near Ushuaia. The clouds are dramatic.

You may have noticed from the glacier photos that the weather was quite overcast on the Beagle Channel; but at times, the clouds were quite interesting, as in this photo.

Last Saturday was stormy off and on and this is the sky about 9 am.

Another sunrise - last week. This week we have complete cloud cover, so there are no pretty sunrises.

The first morning of our cruise we woke up as the sun rose and the sky was full of clouds, yielding this scene of the sun trying to peek through.
